In July, the Russian president approved amendments to the so-called foreign agent law which rights groups have said was being used as a tool to suppress dissent. That law from 2012 initially targeting NGOs was brought in after anti-Putin protests and defined “foreign agents” as organizations or individuals deemed to have received foreign financial support. It has been applied to organizations that challenge the Kremlin, such as human rights groups and independent news outlets....

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Riddle was supposed to go on one of his usual rambling tangents talking about things ranging from “Mt. In experiments with Oliver John of the University of California, Berkeley, Pratto flashed type of different colors on a computer screen. Volunteers had to quickly name the color. The type spelled out words commonly regarded as good or bad, such as “miserly” or “dishonest.” The subjects took fractions of a second longer to name the colors of negative words, suggesting that the bads had subtly interfered with their thinking. And the subjects recalled more negative than positive words....

For years, the agency has told pregnant women to avoid large, fatty fish such as swordfish and king mackerel, which carry heavy loads of methylmercury–a pollutant widely believed to harm fetal brains. Tuna tend to have slightly lower mercury levels. But the FDA draft guidelines reported last week counsel women to limit tuna intake to six ounces (one meal’s worth) per week if they’re nursing, pregnant, or even thinking about having a baby....
